How do I open the Template-Configurator?

How do I adjust the text?

Perform simple text adjustments:

If you want to adjust individual phrases or - which happens more often - you want to specify the general statements, you can edit individual sections using the three dots on the side.

Tip: In many cases it makes sense, for example, to add your own newsletter provider as a recipient to the "Newsletter" procedure.
For detailed adjustments - for example to the texts or the order of the modules - you can use the drag-and-drop menu. You can access this via "Actions" → "Edit on drag-and-drop menu" and it shows you the entire privacy policy in a hierarchical view.

Tip: The "cloud" indicates whether a procedure is global or has been processed locally:
Via the points you can now edit, duplicate or even delete all existing text modules. You can also add new elements such as headings, paragraphs and tables. On the right side of the screen you can always see a preview of the adjustments you have made.
This "cloud" indicates that the procedure has been edited locally. This means that changes to the template do not change this procedure.

This icon means that the procedure has not been edited. All changes made to the template (e.g. by us) are automatically applied to your DSE.

How do I move blocks?

The moving of building blocks:

If you don't like the order of individual texts, you can simply drag and drop them to the desired place.

How is the Drag and Drop menu structured?

Our privacy policy is composed of the following text elements:
  • Headings
  • Paragraphs
  • Lists
  • Tables
  • Accordions

The elements correspond to the respective HTML elements and automatically adopt the CSS of your website for their display, so that the explanation embeds itself perfectly in the look & feel of the rest of the page.

The headlines are the headings of the privacy policy. The elements are marked with an "H" in the drag-and-drop view. The headlines to the HTML elements h1 to h6 and are automatically assigned according to their hierarchical order.
In other words: The top heading is always an "h1", i.e. the largest possible heading that can be set. Each heading directly subordinate to this heading is now one number "smaller" - i.e. an h2.
"Privacy Policy" as the top heading is an h1 and the subordinate heading "Information on handling personal data" is an h2. The different display is directly adopted in the preview on the right side.

What are paragraphs?

Paragraphs form the basic building block of all text elements of the privacy policy. These can be edited using both an intuitive text mode and a more technical HTML mode.

What are accordions?

Accordions are used for clarity of the privacy policy and can be expanded and collapsed by the end user. In the expanded form, the accordions serve as subheadings, while in the collapsed form, all content subordinate to the element is hidden.
We see the accordions "Right of access" and "Right of rectification". In the preview, "Right of access" is expanded and "Right of rectification" is collapsed, so that the subordinate paragraph "Possibly erroneous data sets..." is not displayed.

What are the different lists and tables?

The list items come in two different forms: ordered and unordered. These differ only in that the ordered list is numbered, while in the unordered list the individual list items are represented as bullet points.
In the drag-and-drop view, each list consists of two different elements: The list header and the list elements. The list header introduces the list and can be used to create further list elements. The list elements are the actual content of the list and can be edited in the same way as the paragraphs.
The (unordered) list on the requirements for the right of deletion. The individual list items are displayed as bullet points.
The final element that can be used is the table. We use this, for example, to clearly display a large part of the website-specific procedures - such as the contact form.
The table consists of three different elements: The table header, the table rows (tablerow) and the table data (tabledata). Similar to lists, the table header is used to introduce a table. Each table row leads to a line break within the table and only in the table data the actual content of the tables is now entered. This can be edited as usual via the text as well as the HTML mode.
Tip: Even lists or additional tables can be created within tables.
